Learning English
I’m interested in learning English. And I have been learning English
for many years. But, it’s still not good enough. Especially, I easy to
get nervous when I speak in public. Sometime, let’s make me feel all my
learning in English is in a vain. However, I would not give up . I decide to
improve my English in the New Year. And I make up my mind to study
English as my habit.

An earthquake is the shaking of earth’s surface. It’s a kind of natural
disaster. Everyone is afraid of earthquakes and I am no exception. Because
I will never forget the 921 earthquake. It was a horrible experience. How
do we protect us in earthquakes. First, we have to stay claim, then take shelter
under a table or a furniture. If you are outside, you should run to an open
field. Taiwan is on earthquake belt. We should know how to protect
ourselves.

Everyone needs friends. As the proverb goes ”No man is an island.”
Friends are important for us. When we feel happy, they share happiness
with us. When we feel sad, they also can comfort us. And when we in
trouble, they will give us a hand and try to give us a piece of mind.
There are good friends and fair weather friend around us. Friends
has great influence on us. We can't emphasize the important of
friendship.

In the fast-changing modern times. We live in a busy life. We need
to do some recreational activities in our free time. As the Proverb goes
“ All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. My favorite Recreational
activity is watching TV. Whenever ,I turn on the TV and watch the shows.
I always feel in a good mood. In addition to these, I also like to go hiking.
Joining to the nature environment make me release the tension. To sum up,
recreation activities also make our life more interesting and colorful.

My Most Unforgettable Friend
I have a friend whom I really respect to. He made a living when
he was 13 years old. Then, he gots many calluses on his hands. He is
handsome, gentleman and polite. Besides, he also has a sense of
humor. When we are together, I often talk a lot about what I like
or dislike. He always listens to me with a smile on his face. Not
only he is handsome but also he has strong spirit. In fact,
he is a good example for me in many ways. I think I am lucky to
have the friend. He means a lot to me and I'll cherish his friendship
forever.

New Year is also called Spring Festival. If you visit your friends during
Chinese New Year don't forget to bring tangerines and golden pomelos.
Oranges symbolize wealth because the Cantonese words for "orange"
and "wealth" sound alike. The words for "tangerine" and "luck"
also sound alike, and the word for "pemelo" sounds like the word for
"to have". Tangerines given with the leaves still on show that your
family ties are strong. A fish is served whole to show the family
has been given more than enough. Steamed chickens, with
their heads, tails and feet still attached, symbolize togetherness.
And long noodles are eaten to show hope for a long, long life.
